Loreto Marine Park

The creation of the Loreto Marine Park in July 1996 was a huge step towards to preserving the delicate marine environment in Loreto. With the help of several international conservation groups and the local Grupo Ecogolista Antares (GEA), the BLF will assist in developing an enforcement system to control illegal fishing as well as ways to support the existing park programs and staff requirements. The BLF founders recognize that it is of utmost importance to fund community education programs to illuminate the importance of maintaining a healthy marine environment around Loreto and to provide support for the local initiatives created to manage, protect and preserve this essential ecosystem.
